Week Three

Week Three

Up until this point, I’ve actually been quite surprised with what you can learn if you just keep researching about something that interests you. I’ve listened to many songs, tried to read stories and have recently discovered this new application thanks to my Tech Class: it’s called DuoLingo. It’s an application that allows you to test your own knowledge. You follow interactive modules and in order to move on to the next module, you have to get at least one star (there are a total of three). It’s a fun application to use because you can monitor your own progress and it’s a fun way to keep track and learn a new language. When you see your own progress, it’s more encouraging and motivating to want to keep going. I’ve used it and I’ve gotten pretty far in a short period of time. I’ve been practising my French through this application, but also the online stories I read to my husband and when I attend the Grade 6 French class during my placement- all that note-taking is paying off!

Next week as stated in my proposal, I want to focus on the ways I can make French fun to learn for students.

Even though I haven’t been as up to speed with learning French as I expected, I am still surprised with how far I’ve gotten.
